Three girls die in mudslide

KHAR (Bajaur Agency), Nov 3: Three girls were killed and two others received injuries when a sand dune fell on them at Mianghano village here on Wednesday. It is learnt that at the border village of Miangano, about 18 kms from Khar, some girls were busy digging sand from a dune for the purpose of repairing their houses for Eid festival when it fell over them. Three girls, Rukhsar, 12, Zeenat, 10, and Kulsoom, 14, were killed on the spot. Two of the deceased were stated to be sisters.

When the villagers heard the cries they rushed to the spot. The two injured girls were admitted to hospital.

Prisoners Released: The administration of Bajaur Agency has released about 50 prisoners on the occasion of Eidul Fitr. These people were arrested for petty offences.

The assistant political agent of the agency, Abdul Qayyum Khan, said that complete ban was imposed on aerial firing and anybody found violating the ban would be fined Rs500,000 and imprisoned for a year.

He said that Rs2,000 had also been paid to each of the released prisoners.
