OKARA, Nov 2: A youth shot dead his father for sending divorce notice to his mother after contracting second marriage. Reports said one Muhammad Hussain of Murdani village had contracted second marriage four years ago, while his first wife Ameran Bibi went to her parents house along with their son Nubehar.

Hussain sent a divorce notice to his wife Ameeran Bibi, which annoyed his son. The youth, along with his accomplices Jafar, Alam Sher and Ghulam Sabir shot dead his father.

Gogera Saddar police have registered the case.

EID GRANT: An amount of Rs57,000 was distributed among the heirs of the police officials Eid allowance who had been killed in encounter during their service.

District police officer Malik Tahir Mehmood along with city DSP Syed Nazir Hussain, Sadar DSP Muhammad Nawaz Khan, and Deepalpur DSP Mian Abrar Khalil, also gave Eidi to 22 police officials, including one sub-inspector, two ASI and 19 constables and head constables.

Meanwhile, the families of deceased SIs and ASIs were given Rs3,000 each, while those of constables and HCs were given Rs2,500.

TMA: Okara Tehsil Nazim Rao Jamil Akhtar has withdrawn the Eid holidays of the TMA sanitary staff and distributed the city into four zones for sanitation purposes.

He issued directions for cleaning of city roads, especially those leading to Eidgahs and mosques where Eid prayers would be said.

Similarly, the water supply staff had also been told to remain alert during Eid holidays.
