LAHORE: The Lorry Adda police have registered a case against nearly 400 suspects on the allegation of harassing and misbehaving with a YouTuber girl at Azadi Flyover.

The incident occurred on Aug 14 when hundreds of youngsters were celebrating the Independence Day and police acted on Tuesday after a video of the incident went viral on social media.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident after the video showing miscreants throwing the girl in the air for fun went viral. A number of people can be seen laughing hilariously at her. The suspects also dragged the girl, tore her clothes, used abusive language and looted her valuables.

Eyewitnesses and the FIR said the youngsters attacked the girl when she, along with her team members, was recording a video clip of the Independence Day celebrations for her YouTube channel.

In the FIR, Ayesha Akram alleged that as soon as the suspects attacked her, the security guard of the Minar-i-Pakistan Park opened the central gate to let her enter to take shelter.

“When I crossed the gate and entered the park, the offenders chased, dragged and humiliated me,” she said, adding that her team members were also treated in the same fashion. A group of people finally rescued her, she said. She said youngsters snatched cell phone of her team member Amir Sohail, Rs15,000 and her gold ring.

A senior police officer said a special team had been formed to take action against the suspects. He said the team would take help from the CCTV cameras installed around the crime scene for the identity of the offenders before carrying out raids for their arrests.
