LAHORE: The investigation police claim to have arrested stepbrother of model Nayab Nadeem in her murder case.

Talking to media persons here on Monday, Lahore Investigation DIG Shariq Jamal said Nayab was found strangled at her house at Phase-V in the Defence Housing Authority, Lahore, in July and a case was lodged against unidentified killer(s).

He said during the course of investigation, the police finally traced the blind murder case and arrested her stepbrother, Mohammad Ali Nasir, who was involved in her killing.

The DIG said the suspect opposed her decision to join the modeling profession and planned her murder.

He said Nasir administered some sedative in her food and as she fell unconscious, he strangled her with her dupatta.

The investigation police had collected some evidence from the crime scene including her dupatta, a knife and the drug and sent them for forensic analysis.

To a question, the DIG said the suspect wanted to occupy illegally her DHA house as well.

Further investigation is under way.
