GUJRAT: Police on Tuesday booked and arrested the owner of the pizza outlet whose building had collapsed in a cylinders blast in the Muslimabad area of the Civil Lines police precincts on Monday.

Asad Gujjar, s spokesman for the Gujrat police, said a case against Hassam Butt was lodged under various sections of the Pakistan Penal Code on the report of ASI Muhammad Fayaz.

Two persons, namely schoolteacher Muhammad Asif and his five-year-old daughter Arooj Fatima, were killed while as many others, including Asif’s wife, were injured in the blast.

They were passing by the outlet when the blast occurred. The administration launched an operation for removing the debris from the blast site.

Assistant Commissioner Waqar Khan said further inquiry would be launched to know the exact cause of the blast after lifting of the debris.
