PESHAWAR: A local court on Monday granted temporary bail to security in-charge of a trade centre here in a case regarding killing of two traders.

On Saturday, two traders were shot dead at the trade centre over a dispute on electricity bills.

Saifullah Mohib Kakakhel Advocate appeared before the court of the district and sessions judge on behalf of accused Noor Elhai, security in-charge of the Deans Trade Centre, who had allegedly opened fire on the instigation of former senator Abdur Razaq.

However, the counsel told the court that the accused was sick and not present at the centre when the firing took place; therefore he should be granted temporary relief. The court after hearing the arguments granted bail to the accused till the next hearing.

Earlier in the day, a large number of people staged a protest at the Frontier Constabulary Chowk to protest the killing of two traders. The protesters were demanding arrest of the attackers.

They dispersed after assurance from capital city police officer Abbas Ahsan to arrest the accused.
