Shaukat Mehmood promoted to AVM

ISLAMABAD, Oct 31: Air Commodore Shaukat Mehmood has been promoted to the rank of Air Vice Marshal, says a notification issued by the Public Relations Department of Pakistan Air Force here on Monday.

Currently serving as commander Chaklala base, Air Vice Marshal Mehmood was commissioned in Pakistan Air Force on June 27, 1976 in GD(P) branch. He has qualified Flying Instructors’ Course, Air War Course and National Defence Course.

During his career he has commanded a fighters’ squadron and a fighters’ wing.

A recipient of Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i- Basalat, AVM Mehmood has been Commandant of College of Flying Training at PAF Academy Risalpur and Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Personnel) at Air Headquarters.

He has also served in Qatar on deputation.
