LAHORE: The fitness tests of 32 hockey players, conducted to award central contracts to 20 players, ended here on Tuesday.

National selection committee chairman Olympian Manzoor Junior and senior team’s head coach Khawaja Junaid conducted the fitness tests. Pakistan Hockey Federation president retired Brig Khalid Sajjad Khokhar will approve the contracts after getting their recommendation from the chief selector and head coach.

The PHF has planned to give Rs50,000 monthly to the players of ‘A’ category, Rs40,000 to ‘B’ category and Rs30,000 to ‘C’ category.

However, the players’ fitness test will be conducted every month, on the basis of which they will get the category for the next month.
