PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government here on Monday sacked Minister for Social Welfare Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan and Adviser to Chief Minister Qalandar Khan Lodhi with immediate effect.

A notification said that the governor in exercise of the powers conferred under clause 3 of Article 132 of the Constitution read with clause 1 of Article 105 thereof was pleased to de-notify Dr Hisham Inamullah Khan, minister for social welfare, special education and women empowerment, from his office.

“On his de-notification from his respective office, he has ceased to hold the portfolio of provincial minister with immediate effect,” said the notification. Hisham Inamullah, who belongs to Lakki Marwat district, was initially appointed minister for health. Later his portfolio was changed and he was appointed minister for social welfare.

Through another notification Governor Shah Farman while exercising his constitutional powers also do-notify Qalandar Khan Lodhi as adviser and special assistant to chief minister on revenue and estate. Mr Lodhi, who had served as minister for food, was recently appointed an adviser to the chief minister.

Sources said that Mr Hisham and Mr Lodhi were sacked from the cabinet after they refused to resign. They said that one minister and adviser were likely to be inducted in the cabinet. Faisal Amin Gandapur, brother of Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who was appointed minister, has yet to be given portfolio.
