Man injured; cotton reduced to ashes

VEHARI, Oct 30: A labourer sustained burn injuries when a fire broke out in grain market here on Sunday, reducing to ashes a large quantity of cotton.

Reports said over 800 maunds of cotton was being loaded on a truck when the fire erupted due to short circuit. As a result of which a labourer was injured and the cotton worth Rs1 million reduced to ashes. The injured was admitted to hospital.

Fire-fighters controlled the fire after two-hour efforts. — Correspondent
