HARIPUR: Two persons, including an official of the Islamabad police, were shot dead in different incidents here on Sunday.

Kotnajibullah police said that Mohammad Nazakat, a constable of Islamabad police, and a resident of Dheenda village of Haripur, was returning to Islamabad after Eid vacation by his motorcycle on Sunday morning when an unknown gunman opened fire on him, the police and family sources said.

He died instantly as he suffered bullet shots in the head, police said and hospital sources said.

His body was shifted to the Haripur Trauma Centre for further proceedings.

The motive behind the murder was not known and the police have registered a murder case against unknown assailants.

The second incident was reported from Hattar village, where Mohammad Ikram and his brother, Ehtesham, allegedly barged into the hairdressing shop of Mohammad Javed and opened fire at him, killing him on the spot.

The motive behind the murder was that the victim had shared some video with the rival party of the suspected killers, which had led to the murder of their brother a few days ago.

The accused allegedly took revenge from the victim, the police said.
