Two killed; woman attempts suicide

RAWALPINDI, Oct 30: Two persons were killed and one was injured in a clash between two rival groups in Sihala on Sunday while a woman attempted suicide in Ganjmandi area, police said.

In the first incident, two persons namely Mohammad Sadiq and Mumbraiz, belonging to rival groups, died when their groups clashed with one another whereas Mehmood Ahmed was injured. However, the armed men from both sides managed to escape before the police arrived on the scene.

Police said there had been rivalry between the two groups of Dhoke Milali, Sihala.

Meanwhile, a married woman identified as Gulnar Rafi, a resident of Ganjmandi, attempted suicide by setting herself on fire in her house on Friday.

The injured woman was shifted to the hospital where her condition is stated to be critical.
