HYDERABAD: Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) vice chairman Shabbir Ahmed Kaimkhani has said that his party has decided to take to the streets to raise voice on the issues of Hyderabad.

Speaking at a press conference at local press club on Saturday, he said in the wake of Thursday’s tragedy in the Akbari Mosque area, PSP would give a protest call after consultation to make people of Hyderabad feel that they were not alone. He asked the MQM-P to explain why and against whom it was holding the ‘Shehri Haqooq’ rally, arguing that it (MQM-P) was part of the federal government.

He said people of Hyderabad would reject their rally. He said people of Hyderabad were disappointed by those for whom they had been voting over the last three decades. The MQM-P was now again hoodwinking them and their July 31 rally would be rejected like that of Karachi, he added.

He alleged that MQM-P MNAs were given Rs400m for development works by federal government but they were busy in corruption.

The Sindh government had destroyed the entire province, he further alleged, and asked the federal government why it was not owning Hyderabad. He claimed that a weak case of the PMT blast and fire tragedy was registered, pointing out that the FIR of affected families was not yet registered. He demanded Rs5m for each of the deceased victims and Rs2.5m for each of the injured.

Mr Kaimkhani said people of Hyderabad were now scared of PMTs.

He noted that Sindh government had spent “Rs10,000bn” over the last 14 years but facilities of education and health were still not available to people of Sindh. He said federal government should carry out development works on the pattern of Lahore and other cities.

Meanwhile, the PSP leader visited the bereaved families and offered his condolences.

The party’s divisional president Nadeem Qazi, Shoaib Jafri and Rizwan Gaddi were also present.
