RAWALPINDI: Three people, two of them brothers, were gunned down and two others injured in a clash between two rival groups at Dhoke Jujri Chontra here on Thursday.

Following the triple murder, tension gripped the area as police had been deployed to avert any further clash.

Police said two suspects, one of whom was injured during the fire exchange, had been arrested and a case registered against them. They said the incident occurred when some goats entered the vegetable fields of Sheraz in the village.

Waqar Ahmed, 27, Omar Abid, 23, and Ali Abid, 20, died on the spot while Usman received bullet wounds.

The police have taken into custody Ali Akbar and Sheraz who belonged to the accused party as the latter was also injured in the clash. Omar and Ali Abid were real brothers, while Waqar was their cousin.

A police team reached the spot and collected evidence.
