SHANGLA: The Bisham police have arrested a man for assaulting a four-year-old boy a couple of days ago.

An official of Bisham police station told journalists that two days ago a woman reported that when she returned home in Losar areaafter fetching water she found her four-year-old son in miserable condition.

“When I inquired he told me that he was assaulted by a neighbour namely Khaista Mohammad,” she stated in the FIR.

The official said after lodging FIR under sections 377 of PPC and 53 of the Child Protection Act they arrested the accused from Losar area during a raid. He said the accused was produced before the sessions judge Bisham, where he confessed to the crime.

In another development, the Chawga police arrested a drug peddler and recovered hashish from his possession on Monday.

A police spokesperson said 585 grams of hashish was recovered from the accused, Shahid Bakht of Chawga.

He said a case was registered against him.

Separately, six shops and hotels were sealed in Alpuri, Puran, Bisham and Chakesar tehsils over violation of the standard operating procedures against Covid-19.

A statement issued from the deputy commissioner’s office on Monday said the respective assistant commissioners led the raids and also imposed fine on shopkeepers, butchers, transporters, owners of hotels and operators of bus stands for not implementing the SOPs.
