LAHORE: A 30-year-old woman was found tortured to death in her house in Defence Phase-V on Sunday.

Police said the victim, Nayab, 30, a fashion model, lived alone at her house in Defence, where she was found dead on Sunday afternoon.

The police shifted the body to the morgue for an autopsy and registered a case against the unidentified killer(s) on the complaint of the victim’s step brother Muhammad Ali Nasir. The complainant stated that he had dropped his sister at her house two days ago.

“As a routine, I went to see my sister at her house on Sunday morning and found the door locked. Her mobile phone was also switched off,” Nasir said.

He said when he went to the rear side of the house, he found a window was broken. He said when he entered the house through the broken window, he found his sister lying dead there without any clothes. He demanded arrest of the killer(s).

Police said there were marks of torture on the body.

The Punjab Forensic Science Agency experts collected samples from the crime scene and would submit a report soon.

Cantt Division SP (investigation) Naveed Irshad, who visited the crime scene, said although the belongings of the victim were scattered in the room, the police found no other evidence to show the woman was murdered during robbery.

He said in the light of initial investigations that the model was not working for some months and was also facing financial problems. “Her mobile phone was missing and police were trying to get call data to trace her last contact,” he said. Quoting the victim’s brother, he said the model was not getting any work and was not feeling well for some time. He said the case was being investigated from different angles to trace the killer(s).
