KARACHI: Former world champion Mohammad Yousuf suffered a 4-2 defeat at the hands of unknown Iftekhar Khan as the three-day league of the 29th Sindh Snooker Cup which commenced here at a local parlour on Tuesday.

Iftekhar conceded two frames before registering a 37-56, 67-38, 44-29, 68-44, 48-73, 46-26 victory over 69-year old veteran cueist.

Noted Sindh players Sohail Shehzad, Abdul Sattar and Agha Bilawal won their first-round matches while Jawed Ansari lost.

The three-day league concludes on Thursday and will be followed by the pre-quarterfinals.
