TOBA TEK SINGH: A double-storey abandoned Hindu temple collapsed at Gojra on Saturday afternoon during torrential rain.
The dilapidated temple building built before the Partition on National Bank Road was being used for residing by few families while its ground floor had also some shops. Firstly, the upper storey’s roof fell on ground floor’s roof and collapsed it too. Luckily, there was no one in the rooms and shops were closed.
The municipal committee declared some two years ago the temple’s building rundown.
HOCKEY: Former Pakistan hockey team player and coach Imran Rasool has urged the deputy commissioner to arrange the inauguration of the Astro Turf laid about one and a half month ago in only hockey stadium in government low income housing scheme No 1.
He told here to reporters that due to delaying of its inauguration and appointment of the staff to take care of it, the turf could be spoiled after dust will cover it due to non using by the players.

DIES: Lodhran Investigation SP Chaudhry Ghulam Mustafa Gujjar died at there of cardiac arrest on Friday night.
His body was brought here on Saturday and laid to rest in his native village Chak 707-GB near Kamalia.
Scores of citizens and government officers attended his funeral prayer.
FINED: A M-4 food mart was fined Rs40,000 by Shorkot Assistant Commissioner Usman Sikandar and National Highway Authority police admin officer Rana Muhammad Irfan.
During a surprise visit on Saturday to the mart located on Toba-Shorkot section of the M-4, both officers found the mart overcharging the customers.
