BAHAWALPUR, Oct 27: The federal women development ministry has assured Nasim Mai of free medical treatment and legal aid to prosecute her husband Sadiq Bhatti for cutting her leg.

The assurance was given by Vehari crisis centre supervisor Munaza Kausar and legal adviser Rani Barkat on behalf of PM’s adviser on women development Nilofar Bakhtiar.

Both the office-bearers who met Nasim Mai at Bahawal Victoria Hospital here on Thursday told Nasim Mai that the ministry had taken a serious notice of the torture.

Nasim Mai, 40, of Mauza Jallah Jeem, Mailsi tehsil was seriously injured when her husband Sadiq Bhatti allegedly cut her leg on suspicion of loose morals.

It is worth-mentioning that Nasim’s daughter Ramzana Bibi lodged an FIR against her father, stating that her mother had loose morals.

Jalla Jeam police have registered a case under Section 324 of the PPC against Sadiq Bhatti and arrested him.
