ISLAMABAD, Oct 27: Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Yasin Malik and leader of the opposition in the AJK Legislative Assembly Barrister Sultan mahmood Chaudhry here on Thursday called for unconditional opening of the Line of Control to enable the divided families share their grief and sorrow.

Speaking at a joint press conference, the Kashmiri leaders urged the international community to take notice of the continued human rights violations being perpetrated by the Indian occupation troops in the held Kashmir.

Sultan Mahmood said on the one hand India offered help to Pakistan in relief activities, while on the other it continued killing people in the held Kashmir.

He said the international community must act to bring the orgy of death and destruction in held Kashmir to an end before it is too late. He warned that delay in the settlement of the dispute could ignite a war between the two South Asian rivals.

He demanded India to withdraw its troops from all big cities of held Kashmir, repeal all draconian laws and allow the Kashmiri leadership on both the sides of the divide to meet each other.

Mr malik said he was in Pakistan as a social worker. He said he was highly moved by the spirit demonstrated by the Pakistani nation in helping the people affected by the devastating earthquake.

He said the natural disaster in Azad Kashmir and NWFP was purely an humanitarian issue. He said all the political parties should set aside their differences and jointly undertake relief efforts for the quake-hit people.
