LAHORE: Following the special branch’s report on corona SOPs violations in wedding ceremonies, Chief Secretary Jawwad Rafique has directed all divisional commissioners to ensure SOPs’ strict implementation in all districts and asserted that adopting precautions was direly needed after easing of restrictions.

Chairing a meeting to review corona pandemic and vaccination process, at the civil secretariat on Wednesday, the CS said only outdoor wedding ceremonies were permitted with SOPs, while there was a complete ban on indoor functions.

He called for conducting scientific study of all three waves of the pandemic so that informed plans could be made to deal with the coronavirus. He asked the officers to ensure data entry of vaccinations on a daily basis and meet daily vaccination targets.
