KARACHI, Oct 26: The Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (Sessi) disbursed a total of Rs2.798 million as cash benefits to secured workers and their dependents in September last.

The disbursement includes Rs0.741 million as sickness benefit, Rs1.341 million as disablement pension/gratuity, Rs0.503 million as injury benefit, Rs0.158 million as survivors’ pension, Rs35,000 as maternity benefit and Rs20,000 as death grant, stated a SESSI statement on Wednesday.

The attendance of outdoor patients at Sessi’s medical outlets during the last month stood at 0.132 million. As many as 8,394 cases were referred to specialists for consultation and 251 major operations were performed in social security hospitals.—PPI
