FAISALABAD: Two brothers were gunned down and another sustained injuries over a dispute of irrigation water in Chak 55-GB, Jaranwala, on Monday.

Tariq had an irrigation water dispute with his relatives -- Nasir and Asif. On Monday, both sides exchanged words, and later Nasir and Asif along with accomplices allegedly opened fire on his rivals killing Tariq on the spot and injuring Khalid and Sharif.

Both injured were shifted to the Faisalabad District Headquarters Hospital where Khalid was received dead. The killers fled.

The police said the investigation into the issue had been launched and raids were being conducted to arrest the killers.
