KARACHI: A young man, who owned a hotel in Clifton, was found dead in his room under mysterious circumstances on Sunday, police said.

They said that the body of Shah Salman, 21, was found lying in one of the rooms of Seashell Inn located in Clifton’s Block-2.

Area SHO Pir Shabbir Haider said that the deceased was said to be the owner of the hotel and lived in one of the rooms. He said that Salman did not awake in the morning as per his routine and his staff called his uncle, who came and broke open the lock of the room and found his nephew dead.

There were no apparent marks of injury on the body, which was shifted to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi to ascertain the exact cause of his death.

The police were waiting for doctors’ report to proceed further.

Woman shot dead in Landhi

A young woman was shot dead allegedly by her husband in the Landhi area on Sunday.

Police said that 20-year-old Bisma was killed in her home in Sector-36-G. Her husband, Amanat Ali, and his father, Sarfraz, escaped but the police took the victim’s mother-in-law into custody for interrogation.

A police officer said that they suspected that the young woman was murdered allegedly by her husband over some domestic issues.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to fulfil medico-legal formalities.

Wife held after husband’s murder

A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by her wife and her friend in Korangi, police said.

The Zaman Town police claimed that Mohammad Shahid was killed by his wife, Bina, inside her home near Mohammed Ali Colony late on Saturday night.

The police arrested the woman but her friend managed to escape. The body was shifted to the JPMC.

Man gunned down in Surjani

A 25-year-old man was gunned down in Surjani Town on Sunday.

Police said that Kareem Nawaz was killed by armed men riding a motorcycle in Sector-7-D. The suspects managed to escape.

The police said that it appeared that the murder was motivated by some personal enmity.

The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
