Folk singer Zarina Baloch passes away

KARACHI, Oct 26: Leading Sindhi folk singer Zarina Baloch died of brain haemorrhage in a local hospital late on Tuesday night. Wife of Sindhi nationalist leader Rasool Bakhsh Palijo and grandmother of MPA Sassui Palijo, she leaves behind a daughter and two sons.

Family members took the body from the hospital to Hyderabad late in the night. Her funeral prayers will be held at Ayaz Latif Palijo’s house at B-48, Prince Town, Hyderabad, at 11 am on Wednesday. She will be laid to rest in the Qasimabad graveyard.

Ms Baloch was well-known for her folk and nationalist songs and was widely respected.
