GUJRAT: Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested the suspects involved in murder of a youngster as elder brother and his brother-in-law turned out to be killers over an honour-related issue at Sadowal village.

The youngster was asphyxiated for having an alleged affair with his elder brother’s wife and the killers later gave it a colouring of a suicide as the body of the slain was hanged with a ceiling fan.

A spokesman for Gujrat police said the youngster was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his house last week.

Kharian DSP Iftikhar Tarrar and Kharian Saddar SHO Inspector Sarfraz Sekhu reached the spot and launched investigation. Torture marks were found on the body of the deceased during initial investigation and police took it as a murder instead of suicide.

Police said they grilled the deceased’s brother who later confessed to his crime.

In another case, the Kakrali police arrested the main suspect involved in torturing a student of a school and uploading the video of the incident on social media.

Police said raids were being conducted to arrest the remaining suspects nominated in the case.
