MANSEHRA/SWABI: Lightning killed three persons, including a woman, and injured five others in Torghar and Swabi districts, the police said on Saturday.

The lightning amid heavy rain and windstorm hit two houses in Judbah Lami and Shanguldar villages of Torghar on Friday night, leaving a woman identified as Rukhsana Bibi and Mohammad Radif, 10, dead.

Three people namely Mohammad Miskeen, Sahib Gul and Khumzar Jan Bibi received critical wounds and were rushed to the basic health unit in Dormera, where their condition is stated to be out of danger, BHU head Dr Ahsanullah told reporters.

Likewise, a man was killed and two others were injured when lightning struck their house during rain in Amrai Payyan village of Gadoon Amazai mountainous region of Swabi.

The deceased was identified as Umar Khitab.
