BAHAWALNAGAR: A police constable was admitted to hospital after he was attacked by a mob on Thursday for allegedly making the video of a woman who was taking bath in her home in Mohallah Daggi, Fort Abbas.
According to police sources, Constable Muhammad Ashfaq was standing outside the home and making the video when neighbour Zubair noticed the voyeur and alerted the neighbourhood. Soon a mob gathered at the scene, seized his mobile phone and found inappropriate videos on it.
They thrashed him and later alerted the police on 15. On information, Fort Abbas police officials took the injured constable to the hospital.
Fort Abbas ASI Shahid said the woman’s husband had filed a written complaint against the constable. He said a report on the matter had been sent to higher-ups, and it included the attack on the constable by the mob.
He said a delay in lodging a report was because the Fort Abbas DSP had been transferred. However, action would be taken as soon as instructions were received by the higher-ups, he added.
