KARACHI, Oct 24: The PPP Canada chapter has raised 900,000 dollars to be contributed to the relief activities for the victims of earthquake in northern Pakistan and Kashmir.

The fund-raising campaign was organized on the instructions of PPP chairperson Ms Benazir Bhutto.

The Canadian government is providing a matching grant with the condition that the money collected should be channelled through NGOs United Way, the Red Cross or the IDRF. Since the IDRF offers the least administrative cost, the PPP has opted for its services for the purpose.

The PPP Canada has resolved to continue its fund-raising efforts until the completion of rehabilitation work in the quake-affected areas.
