Pakistan has reported less than 2,000 coronavirus cases for the second day in a row. During the last 24 hours, the country recorded 1,843 cases and 80 deaths, compared to 1,771 cases and 71 deaths a day earlier.

According to the health ministry, 47,183 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours while the positivity rate is 3.90 per cent. So far, Pakistan has reported 924,667 cases and 20,930 fatalities.

Breakdown of deaths and cases reported on June 2:

  • Sindh: 868 cases, 12 deaths
  • Punjab: 447 cases, 45 deaths
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 302 cases, 16 deaths
  • Islamabad: 100 cases, 1 death
  • Balochistan: 77 cases, 2 deaths
  • Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 37 cases, 4 deaths
  • Gilgit-Baltistan: 12 cases
