KHAIRPUR, Oct 23: Three under-trial prisoners fled from the Civil Hospital, in Khairpur, on Sunday evening. They have been identified as Fayaz Chandio, Suleman Kaleri and Khameso Sehto.

The prisoners had been brought to the hospital for treatment a few days ago.

On Sunday, they attacked a cop who had gone to give them meal. The prisoners over powered the other cop who was standing outside their ward.

They snatched a pistol from one of the cops and escaped firing in air.

A woman, Zubaida, was injured during the aerial firing.

Meanwhile, our Sukkur correspondent adds, eleven armed persons attacked the jail ward of the Khairpur Civil hospital and freed three prisoners of the central jail of Khairpur.

During the firing a police constable, Imam Bux, and a woman were injured.
