ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue has exempted whole of sales tax on import of oxygen gas (O2) and cylinders. The exemption will come into effect retrospectively from May 14 for 180 days.

Exemption will be available on oxygen gas, O2 cylinders, cryogenic tanks and oxygen concentrators/generators/manufacturing.

Through an income tax notification SRO589 of 2021, income tax is also exempted on import of all these items. Similarly, through a Customs notification, customs duty was also exempted on all these items.
