LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau has arrested a man impersonating NAB Sukkur DG.

The NAB said suspect Mian Fayyaz allegedly used to impersonate NAB Sukkar DG to gain illegal benefits from different government officers and others by using pressure tactics and influence.

“He happened to approach senior police officers, administration of private housing societies and different DC offices to seek favours by impersonating a NAB officer,” it said and added he was arrested at Johar Town. A sum of Rs4.4m and a weapon had also been recovered from him.

FIA: The FIA said on Wednesday a certificate was given to an inspector for his ‘professional conduct’ and not for stopping PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif from leaving for London.

“In fact, 20 commendation certificates on Monday last were awarded to various officers, some of whom were performing duties during Eid vacation,” it said.
