ISLAMABAD: Robbers, burglars and thieves struck at 18 different places and made off with cash and valuables worth million of rupees during the last two days, police said.
In the first incident, two armed robbers looted cash and ornaments worth Rs1.2 million at gunpoint from the house of Iftikhar Ahmed in I-8/1.
In the second incident, robbers made off with Rs900,000 from a house of Nadeem Khan in G-9/4.
In the third incident cash including foreign currency worth Rs200,000 were looted from a man and his daughter at 9th Avenue, the police said.
Three persons came in a car and intercepted Nadeem Khan’s car when he reached the avenue. The culprits held them at gunpoint and snatched cash, including Qatari riyal, they added.
In another incident, two robbers snatched a vehicle from a man in I-10/1, the police said. Robbers snatched cash and mobile worth Rs77,000 from a man in Judicial Colony, they said, adding that two persons armed with weapons interacted Mohammad Irfan when he reached the colony and held him at gunpoint and snatched the cash and mobile.
Some burglars broke into the house of Tasawar Abbas in G-9/2 and stole cash, ornaments and households items worth Rs135,000.
In another incident, burglars stole ornaments and mobiles worth Rs160,000 from a house of Abdul Rasheed, located at Pindorian. Similarly, robbers made off with cash and valuables worth Rs40,000 from a house of Mohammad Siddiq, located in Ittefaq Colony.
Cash and ornaments worth Rs1.5 million were looted from a house of Bushra Fatima in E-13/1, the police said.
In another incident thieves made off with lights worth Rs300,000 from Centaurus Mall. Likewise, thieves stole Rs45,500 from an office located in G-7/1.
Similarly, cash and mobile worth Rs60,000 were stolen from an office at Model Town, the police said.
Moreover, valuables worth Rs120,000 were stolen from a car in I-11/4, the police said. Meanwhile, auto-thieves stole five vehicles from different areas of capital, they said.
