Two kidnapped in Mardan

MARDAN, Oct 22: A bank official and a villager were kidnapped in different parts of Mardan district on Saturday. Bacha Khan, an official of the Muslim Commercial Bank, was whisked away at gunpoint from the Takhtbhai tehsil. Sources said that neither his relatives nor the bank management had lodged any report with police.

Fazal Hakim, a resident of Dagai village, was kidnapped allegedly by three armed men identified as Sherinzada, Subhan and Rahim Shah. Hakim’s relatives lodged an FIR against the accused with the Lundkhwar police.

Meanwhile, district police officer Abid Ali said that police had recovered the kidnapped brother of a psychiatrist from Sakhakot in the Malakand Agency on Saturday.

Inayat Khan, brother of Dr Farooq Khan, was kidnapped by unidentified men from Sheikh Maltoon Town on Oct 16. In a statement, the DPO said that Inayat Khan was recovered in cooperation with elders of the Sakhakot area.

Another police party raided the Marahati Mera area and recovered a woman and a man who were kidnapped from the Police Lines locality. The man was identified as Sahibzada Sajjad.

Police also seized one kilogram hashish and arrested accused Tariq, a resident of Shago Kuroona Hoti area.
