PESHAWAR: A total of 26 candidates have filed nomination papers against different posts in the upcoming annual elections of Peshawar High Court Bar Association for which polling will be held on May 29.

On Tuesday, the last day of filing nomination papers, the election commissioner for the polls, Fazal Ilahi Khan, issued a list of contesting candidates according to which three candidates -- Behlol Khattak, Mohammad Ismail Khalil and Yousaf Ali -- have filed papers for the post of president.

Two candidates -- Rehmanullah Shah and Syed Azizuddin Kakakhel -- filed papers for the post of vice president whereas three candidates -- Arbab Kaleemullah, Javed Ali Ghani and Qaisar Zaman -- filed papers for the post of secretary general.

Similarly, Sajeed Khan Afridi and Shahzad Gul Shahzad are trying their luck for the post of joint secretary whereas Ibrahim Noor and Rahmat Ali have filed papers for the post of finance secretary.

For the post of secretary library, two candidates namely Kamran Ahmad and Shabana Bibi have filed papers. Saifur Rehman and Syed Saud Shah have been contesting for the post of press secretary.
