LAHORE: The coronavirus infection deaths reported during the last 24 hours were 45 in Punjab, including 20 in Lahore compared to 40 deaths in the province during the previous day.

The coronavirus infections also rose to 1,073 during the last 24 hours compared to 483 reported during second day of Eid.

The total number of people who contracted coronavirus reached 325,662 and total deaths 9,367 across the province. Of the 1,073 new Covid cases reported in Punjab, the highest number 670 new cases were reported from Lahore, followed by 86 from Multan.

The Punjab primary and secondary healthcare department spokesman says the department conducted 12,862 coronavirus tests during the last 24 hours taking the total number of tests to 4.827 million. As many as 285,368 coronavirus patients had recovered.

The spokesman said people should ensure protective measures to save themselves from the infection. In case there were some symptoms, the spokesman said such persons should immediately contact 1033.
