MIRPURKHAS: Sindh Minister for Food and Minority Affairs Hari Ram Kishori Lal has said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government, which has in reality only ruled over Twitter for the past three years, has no genuine plan to turn around things and now the virtual rulers are counting their last days in power.

He said at inauguration ceremony of a water supply scheme in Mirpurkhas that after the present government’s utter failure in service delivery and controlling economy, people once again wanted to see Pakistan Peoples Party in federal government in next general election, said a handout.

He said that Sindh government believed in serving people and the water supply scheme that would lift water from Jamrao west branch was another proof of the party’s commitment with people.

He said that the project had been completed at a cost of Rs580 million, which would supply about 3.2 MGD water to people of Mirpurkhas on a daily basis.

He said that the Sindh government continued work on development schemes even during recent heavy rains and coronavirus pandemic. The project for the construction of roads in the city had also been launched, he said.

He said that the first phase of the drainage project had been completed at a cost of Rs1.5 billion while work on the second phase would be started soon this year. More development works would be started in PS-47 constituency this year, he said.

He said that work a filter plant project would be started to supply of clean drinking water to Satellite Town and adjoining areas at a cost of Rs80 million and drainage lines had been laid in union councils No1 to 8.

The minister said that he hoped Mirpurkhas would soon have a university and people of the area would start benefiting from the new Civil Hospital in Ratanabad which had been equipped with modern facilities.

About third wave of coronavirus, he said the Sindh government’s strategy for tackling the contagion had been widely appreciated because the provincial government was the first to start vaccination against the virus among general public.

He appealed to people to strictly follow instructions of the government and standard operating procedures to defeat the coronavirus “so that you and your loved ones can remain safe through this pandemic”.

PPP leader Kiran Rari Ram, chief engineer Sikandar Ali Memon, XEN Shukat Ali Memon, PPP minority wing president Ramesh Kumar, Hira Lal Mangwar and others were also present at the ceremony.
