Pakistan has received its first batch of 1.2 million doses of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine through the Covax facility with an additional batch of 1.2m doses scheduled to arrive in a few days, according to a statement issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

More vaccine shipments will be approved from June onwards and the purpose of the Covax facility is to provide enough vaccines to vaccinate 20 per cent of the population in Pakistan, it said.
