KHYBER: Gunmen killed three persons, including a woman of their family, for honour in Tirah valley of the Khyber tribal district on Tuesday.

Police officials said the incident took place in Peer Mela locality of Zakhakhel. They said armed men shot dead a private schoolteacher while he was on way home on a motorcycle.

Another teacher riding the pillion was critically wounded in the firing. He succumbed to injuries at a private clinic.

The officials said the assailants later shot dead a woman of their family inside her house over alleged relations with the schoolteacher.

The police registered a case.

Separately, a collision between a truck and a taxi caused injuries to five persons in Landi Kotal on Tuesday.

The injured were taken to a local hospital, wherefrom three in critical condition were referred to a Peshawar hospital.

Four of the injured, including Rohullah, Said Ghulam, Mohammad Ismail and Niaz Ali, hailed from Afghanistan, while Said Munir belonged to Neki Khel area of Landi Kotal. The accident took place due to over-speeding.

Also on Tuesday, an FC man namely Khalil Chitrali lost his life after lightning struck him in Shalman area near the Afghan border.
