BAJAUR: Two young men were killed and three injured in separate road accidents here on Monday.

The Rescue 1122 officials said two motorcycles collided head-on on the Haji Lawang-Salarzai Road in Raggan area of Khar tehsil in the early hours of the day.

The accident instantly killed Maaz Khan, 22, while Rizwan Khan, 20, lost life on the way to the hospital.

Another injured, Yasir Khan, 23, was admitted to the district headquarters hospital in critical condition.

The officials said the accident was reportedly caused by speeding.

The deceased, who were close friends and college students, were laid to rest in the native Sadiqabad town.

Meanwhile, a motorcycle overturned on the Khar-Sadiqabad Road near the civil colony here, critically injuring two young men, who rode it.

The injured, including Aslat Khan, 34, and Hayyan Khan, 31, were shifted by the residents to the district headquarters hospital.

The accident occurred as the rider lost control of the motorcycle on a turn.

The Rescue 1122 said the district had recorded more than 50 road accidents during the current month of Ramazan. It said the accidents left 12 people dead and more than 30 injured mostly motorcycles.

INJURED: Assistant commissioner of Khar subdivision Fazal Raheem suffered minor injuries as he fell from a wall while chasing drug pushers near Khar town here on Monday.

He got first aid at the district headquarters hospital and was discharged afterward. The incident occurred as the official accompanied the policemen raided a field, where drugs was being sold to youth.

The police arrested two drug dealers and sent them to jail.
