CHITRAL: One person died and three sustained injuries when a vehicle carrying timber from the forest in Arandu town plunged into a ravine here on Sunday afternoon.

Chitral police told Dawn that one Mohammad Nadir died on the spot while the injured included Musa, Mohyuddin and Mir Ahmed were shifted to Civil Hospital Drosh.

He blamed overloading of the vehicle for the accident due to which it went out of control while turning a turn on the narrow road.

Meanwhile, Chitral police claimed to have arrested the culprits involved in the murder of a person in Arandu. Shabbir and his two accomplices had allegedly shot dead villager Abdul Wahab two days ago and had gone into hiding.
