SUKKUR: Two labourers were killed and five others injured when the roof of a portion of the Al-Abbas Rice Mill on Quetta Road in Jacobabad collapsed on Thursday.

Officials at the Saddar police station said co-workers immediately started relief and rescue work to drag out the seven labourers from under the rubble and piles of rice.

However, one of the victims, Jan Mohammad Brohi, 25, had already died and another one, Asghar Gopang, succumbed to his injuries while he was being taken to a Larkana hospital due to his critical condition.

The other injured — Akbar Ali Darpali, Aijaz Darpali, Shah Murad Darpali, Abdul Wahab Lashari and Aziz Lashari — were provided emergency medical assistance at the Jacobabad Civil Hospital.
