SYLHET: The war diary captured by Pakistani troops from the Indian companies routed in the Golabganj area near Sylhet contains startling revelations about the subversive activities being carried out by the Indian infiltrators inside East Pakistan, cables PPI special correspondent.... The diary was found in a pucca house on one of the hills which was apparently the headquarters of Indian forces. The diary contains day-to-day operations carried out by the Indian infiltrators, first in the Comilla sector and then in the Sylhet sector.
While the diary lists Captain B.B. Agarwal as Company Commander, it is believed that their commanding Army officer had fled across the border when the attack started. According to the diary the companies were moved from Hisar, Haryana ... they were brought to Delhi from where they were flown to Agartala which was the temporary abode of the 104 Battalion of the Indian Border Security Force. The diary lists dates when they were visited by the commandant of the BSF and also by the Indian Army commandos. They destroyed a number of bridges in the Sylhet area also. The diary also revealed that the Indian troops had laid booby traps at a number of border outposts on Pakistani side.
