ABBOTTABAD, Oct 19: Work on the tent village at the Ayub Medical complex here by the NWFP government is in full swing and the project would be completed soon after the arrival of tents.

DCO Abbottabad Capt (R) Muneer Azam giving details of the project said that 1,000 tents would be installed in the village with a capacity of 10 persons per tent which would accommodate at least 10,000 people. Payments to Wapda had already been made for power supply to the village, while levelling and cutting of land was near completion, he added.

Besides accommodation, small play grounds and other facilities would also be provided to the residents of the tent village, he said.

He said that relief work in the eight affected union councils of Abbottabad district was also running smoothly, and the army was taking care of it for which four sub-area camps had been established which included camps at Nambal, Kohala, Basian and Kala Pani (Thandiynai) where rescue work with relief operation was being carried out.

Relief goods loaded on 12 trucks would also be distributed in the Quake-hit areas.
