ISLAMABAD, Oct 19: The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) will prepare a report on damages to the agriculture sector in seven districts of the NWFP and Azad Kashmir by November 15.

The decision was taken in a meeting headed by Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock Sikandar Hayat Bosan here on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by representatives of the following international donor agencies: WFP, DFID, EU, USAID, FAO, UNDP and ADB.

The FAO mission comprising five international experts and six national experts will prepare the report, including proposals for reconstruction strategy, with total costs for implementation. The report will be prepared in collaboration with other donor agencies.

Mr Bosan said that the affected population was heavily dependent on agriculture and livestock; therefore, our relief and rehabilitation efforts should focus on these fronts.
