SUKKUR: A man and his son were killed when the tractor-driven trolley they were travelling in collided with a truck near Raja filling station along Thull Road in Jacobabad district late on Thursday evening.

Officials at the Saddar police station said that both the vehicles were laden with husk. They said the truck hit the tractor and crushed it and the attached trolley. The tractor driver, Ghulam Qadir Golo, died on the spot and his son, Qamaruddin, who was sitting on the trolley, was buried under the pile of husk. The child was dragged out of the pile by people and police in unconscious condition after an hour-long struggle. He died before he could be provided any medical treatment.

The deceased were residents of Ibrahim Jatoi village of Shikarpur district.

The truck driver managed to escape from the accident site, the police said.
