KOHAT: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will launch a floating restaurant for the tourists in Tanda Dam.
Talking to mediapersons here on Friday, MPA Ziaullah Bangash said the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would launch the service soon. He said it would be ensured that the boat service remained operational round-the-clock.
Mr Bangash said a lighting system was being installed across the dam to facilitate the families willing to spend night there.
He said a rest house of the communication and works department would be converted into a hotel-cum-restaurant.
The former CM’s adviser said there were many popular sites along the route to the Tanda Dam, which could attract a large number of tourists. He said roads leading to the dam had been well-carpeted, adding jet boats had already been introduced in the dam.
BUSINESS RESTRICTIONS: Kohat Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Asad Javed and Grand Business Alliance chief Haji Abid Khan have asked the government to take the traders’ representatives on board before imposing business restrictions as what they called unilateral decisions had ruined the businesses across the province.
In a statement on Friday, they said the two-day market closure and other restrictions had caused great rush of people in the bazaars, which was causing spread of coronavirus. They said the government should lift the business restrictions to help control rush in the bazaars.
BAKERY SEALED: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority officials on Friday sealed a bakery following hospitalisation of a girl child due to food poisoning after she ate a chicken piece bought from the bakery.
A team led by deputy director Kamran Yousufzai raided the bakery and sealed it after finding that the chicken pieces were stale.
BEAUTIFICATION DRIVE: The station headquarters and the cantonment board have completed various beautification projects.
Under the beautification drive, a map of Pakistan has been stalled at the Allah Square highlighting historical sites of Sindh, Islamabad, Lahore and Balochistan. Besides various portraits have been erected with one of them showing Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah meeting Pakhtun leaders. Portraits of Dr Allama Mohammad Iqbal, the Kohat Tunnel, Khyber Pass, Faisal Mosque and Islamia College have also been installed at prominent places, adding to the serene environment and beauty of the cantonment.
