THE government has taken the Koi Bhooka Na Soye initiative to provide free meals to citizens in major cities with the aim of expanding the network to ultimately cover the entire country. While it is an encouraging step by the government, it could also negatively impact the people by making the unprivileged segment dependent on the government. The government should, in fact, announce programmes that could make the people earn and live independently.
