HYDERABAD, Oct 18: The four taluka nazims of the district took over the charge of their offices on Tuesday. District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil will take over charge of his office on Wednesday (today).

The district nazim went to Karachi to attend a meeting convened by Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim.

City Taluka Nazim Javed Jabbar, Latifabad Taluka Nazim Sabir Qaimkhani, Hyderabad (rural) Taluka Nazim Khawind Bux Jahejo and Qasimabad Taluka Nazim Noor Mohammad Shoro took over charge of their offices.

They held introductory meetings with the TMA staff and issued necessary directives.

The City taluka nazim banned all transfers and postings within the TMA and issued a circular for the staff to be punctual in their duties.

When he reached the office the staff of his own office had not arrived and only a peon was present there.

The taluka nazim called for improving cleanliness in the city taluka.

Latifabad Taluka Nazim Sabir Qaimkhani directed his staff of office to restore green belts in the taluka which were being used illegally by motor mechanics throughout the taluka.

He said the green belts added to beauty of the area and these had been converted into auto workshops by people who were earning money from there.

He said that these were properties of the TMA Latifabad and needed to be retrieved for actual purpose.

He held introductory meeting with his staff and said the TMA officials of the departments should observe decency and courtesy while dealing with the people.

He said the people always approached when they faced problems in their work.

Hyderabad (rural) Taluka Nazim Khawind Bux Jahejo asked his officers to collect details of all relevant office work and development schemes in the taluka.

He said he needed to work in collaboration with the district nazim.
